Having worked on hundreds of testimonial ‘videos’ with tight budgets and deadlines. I have always strived to create more than a product placement or service announcement in to each video. Then once I started using tried and true storytelling techniques as I had been using in Documentary Films, the engagement and interest level skyrocketed for each client.
Lets be honest, no one is interested in a testimonial video – but they are interested in compelling stories about overcoming issues and facing adversity or a life change event. Hardly anyone watches a video from a company pushing their product or service, but a story about overcoming the odds and realizing a dream – some people will watch it a dozen times.
In this course we will be applying filming making techniques through the testimonial process, seeing where we can find a story, how to think about positioning the story and a framework we can use that keeps the story fresh.
This is a hands on practical course and you will have access to 3 hours of real life footage to practice the techniques with each lesson.
